Welcome to Churchill Attorneys.
We are a dynamic and growing intellectual property practice based in Melbourne, Australia. You can expect the advantages of large firm expertise along with the familiarity and cost-effectiveness that is possible only with a more compact practice. We take the time to listen and discuss all options with our clients before embarking on any work.
Steven Borovec is the firm's Principal, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia. Prior to founding Churchill Attorneys, Steven was an equity partner in a major Australian patent attorney firm. During his time in private practice, Steven has assisted clients in many areas including the biological sciences, chemistry, mechanical engineering and computer-related technologies. His practice also extends to trademark and design matters.
Steven graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1991 with a First Class Honours degree in Science (ranked first in year, recipient of the Simmons Award), with a double major in microbiology and biochemistry. He was subsequently awarded a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine in 1995, and later completed graduate studies in intellectual property at Melbourne University Law School.
Prior to entering the patent attorney profession in 1998 Steven held a research and development position with an international biopharmaceutical company, and has also previously worked as a network administrator in a large educational institution.
Outside of the office, Steven is a dedicated family man, keen dabbler in motorcycle mechanics, and (very) amateur golfer.
Steven is assisted by attorney-qualified and paralegal staff in the day-to-day operations of Churchills.
